STATE MEMBER ITEM FUNDS IN JEOPARDY

It is unclear whether or not the state will fund member items this year. Member items were left out of the bare bones budget and were not contained in the supplemental budget that was passed in early September. With the World Trade Center tragedy, it is even more unclear what will happen as funding has been earmarked for relief and rebuilding efforts.

It is very important that we are able to document the importance of this money as it impacts services to the elderly, staffing levels and so forth. The State Office for the Aging administers $10 million in member items statewide. That is a lot of money lost to services for seniors.

Please fill out the survey below. THANK YOU! If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call Greg Olsen at 518-465-0641.
